Rex and Finn: Where Learning Meets Adventure

Rex is a small green dinosaur in knight's armor with a red cape. Finn is a shark with glowing blue eyes on monster truck wheels. They are best friends, and they go on adventures where kids learn to write letters, trace numbers, and practice the skills that build a foundation for school.

That probably sounds like a lot of activity books you've seen before. Here's what makes Rex and Finn different.

Every letter, every number, every tracing activity is paired with something that matters beyond the page. A is paired with Apple (health). E is paired with Exercise (energy). K is paired with Kindness. The child is practicing handwriting. But the concepts traveling alongside that practice are chosen with intention.

We designed Rex and Finn as the entry point to Spark and Wonder Books. They're for the youngest readers, ages three to five, and they do what the best early learning books do: make practice feel like play. The characters are vivid and fun. The illustrations are full-color, bold, and warm. Every few pages, there's a coloring reward page where the child gets to take a break and just enjoy the characters.

But underneath the adventure, the same belief runs through these books as through everything we publish. We believe the values a child encounters earliest are the ones that root deepest. Even at the level of letter tracing, there's an opportunity to put kindness and courage and patience in a child's world.

Rex and Finn don't lecture. Rex is brave but sometimes scared. Finn is strong but sometimes confused. They figure things out together, and the child figures things out alongside them. It's learning through companionship, not instruction.

Four books are currently available: an uppercase alphabet book, a lowercase alphabet book set on a magical garden island, a words and vocabulary book on a volcano island, and a numbers book in the jungle.
