Three Stoic philosophers reimagined for children ages 4 to 8. Every quote is real. Every scene your child will recognise.
About This Book
Almost 2,000 years ago, three Roman thinkers wrote about how to live well. Marcus Aurelius wrote in a private journal. Epictetus taught from a small school in Greece. Seneca wrote letters to a younger friend. Their writing survived for two thousand years because the questions they were asking are the same ones you're asking today.
Wise Words for Young Hearts brings all three philosophers together in one hardcover. Marcus learns to stay calm when things break. Epictetus learns that what he can't control doesn't have to control him back. Seneca learns what it means to be a good friend. Forty-five scenes in total, each built around a real quote from one of the three.
Each spread pairs a coloring illustration with a story page. Your child colors while you read. The quote at the bottom is for you. The reflection question is for both of you, at bedtime, at the dinner table, or on a quiet afternoon.
This isn't a book that lectures. It's a book that starts conversations.
How It Works
Every spread has two pages. On the left: a real philosopher quote, a short read-aloud story, and one reflection question that turns the page into a conversation between you and your child. On the right: a coloring illustration with bold outlines for little hands. Three books bound as one means three complete stories under a single hardcover. The stories are for your child. The quotes are for you. The questions are for both of you, together.
