Kindness to strangers

The Dropped Basket, a coloring page about kindness to strangers

“Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.”

after Seneca · On a Happy Life 24

Why this page matters

At the supermarket, the man ahead of you drops his bag and apples roll under the trolleys. Your child watches what you do next, often more closely than they listen to anything you say about kindness. Crouching down to help is the lesson, and a word about it afterwards helps it stick.

Young children often copy the kindness they see more than the kindness they are told about. Saying what you noticed out loud, “he looked like he needed a hand,” helps them learn to spot the moment themselves.
